Strategy may seem like the core of good marketing but it’s often where marketers fall short.
It’s all too common to see marketing plans that skip right to tactics without really taking the time to think strategically first. But without a solid strategy to back you, you are left with questions rather than solutions.
So what actually makes good strategy?
(Hint — it’s all about making choices.)
A strategy that works is one that is not afraid to discriminate. This means not focusing on every single possible avenue that a possible sale could emerge from (because chances are, they won’t).
Instead, know your market. Target decisively. Be clear with which targets you want to reach, how you will position yourself to them, and your objectives in doing so.
This might seem counter intuitive, especially to revenue-hungry senior managers. But being concise and decisive in your strategy will bring results. Trying to please everyone won’t.
So today we’re giving you a video explaining why you should make the decisions you need to make. Dacia Coffey and Daisy McCarty go over everything you need to know in order to build a strong marketing strategy that speaks to your target market. This video will make you get serious about good strategy and get away from rushing into tactics.
